Katie (Wojciechowski) Hayes | Data Engineer
Data Infrastructure, Analytics Engineering, and Decision Support
I transform raw data into well-structured, trusted datasets that power business intelligence and decision-making. Driven by curiosity and a problem-solving mindset, I thrive on digging into complex data challenges and uncovering the story behind the numbers. By combining technical expertise with clear, compelling storytelling, I enable teams to turn insight into action—consistently and at scale.

Looking for a data expert who speaks both business and Python? Let's talk!

I'm currently working on a Master's of Science in Data Science at Texas Tech's Rawls College of Business, to become an Analytics Engineer. I'm a part-time student and will earn my degree in May 2026.
In my spare time, I write about music and more.
Data Projects
Whether in my graduate classes or in my free time, I've worked on a variety of data science and engineering projects - here are a few highlights.
Scraping Program for E-Commerce Data
I created a Python web scraper for my ISQS-6339 Business Intelligence class in my MS Data Science program. The script extracts detailed specs and collects data on multiple iPhone models from a university assignment webpage. Using requests and BeautifulSoup, it parses the site and child pages, then exports the data into a CSV for analysis. Read about it here!
Music Blog Visualization with Pandas
My friend, who writes for the same music blog I do, created some scripts to show author stats for the website. I refactored the main plot with Pandas to make the visualization cleaner on the backend and more reusable. Read more about it here!
Tennis Club Signup via Django
For a Data Technology Environments course project, I built a tennis club signup app using Django. I set up the backend to handle user registration and display club members when prompted. It was my first time using Django, and I really enjoyed how quickly I could get a full app running.

Data Analytics Projects
In my previous Data Analyst role at JCT Growth, I lead reporting efforts for clients and provide ad hoc analysis for organizations ranging from a nationwide cancer nonprofit, to a fiber internet provider, to a lighting ecommerce site. Here are a few projects I worked on.
Data warehousing using Supermetrics and BigQuery
Set up cost-efficient, secure storage of clients' historical data in BigQuery
I led my team's efforts to implement a combination of Supermetrics Hub and BigQuery to transfer, query, and store our clients’ data. Read more about how we optimized our setup and why I think it's a good idea to pair Supermetrics and BigQuery for client data management.
Tableau visualization for key event analysis
Created an interactive packed bubble viz for exploring key event density by landing page
I used Google Analytics (GA4) data, accessed via BigQuery, to create a packed bubbles visualization. This visualization showcased key event counts per landing page on a website and included an interactive table that provided deeper insights.
Custom SEO "Visibility" Metric for Reporting
Helped develop and implement custom SQL-driven metric for client's SEO ranking report
I collaborated on the design and implementation of a custom SEO "visibility" metric using SQL. This metric was integrated into client reporting to provide a more nuanced view of search performance across pages and keywords.
